Hugo Cazares (0-1-1) vs. Melchor Cob Castro (0-2), 10 rounds, 108 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Cazares just much too big for Castro. Dropped and bloodied him in the 4th. Castro put up a solid effort despite being outgunned, making it to the final bell. Scores were 98-93, 98-92, 97-93.

Virgil Hill (1-1) vs. Prince Badi Ajamu (0-2), 10 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Both overtrained. Ajamu managed to frustrate Hill by holding him a ton after getting off his one or two shots. Hill was behind at the halfway mark but came on late. Still, the fight was extremely tight as recognized by the scoring. A 95-95 score was overruled by a 96-95 and 96-94 in favor of Hill, who was lucky to escape with a win.

Cornelius Boza-Edwards (1-1) vs. Alex Arthur (0-2), 10 rounds, 130 pounds
Summary: Edwards overtrained, Arthur top shape. Arthur was just severely outmatched, though he lasted six rounds and a couple of knockdowns before being dropped for a ten count. Edwards had no trouble in this one.

Gianfranco Rosi (1-1, KO) vs. Sugar Ray Leonard (1-1), 10 rounds, 154 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Rosi far from embarrassed himself, as he hurt Leonard a number of times, particularly in a wild seventh round that Leonard was lucky to survive. Going into the final round, Rosi was ahead by one point on two cards and Leonard ahead by three on the other. Leonard took the initiative, and with Angelo Dundee likely telling him he was blowing it, he blasted Rosi to the canvas with a scintillating combination that Rosi was unable to rise from. A well-timed KO.

Antonio Esparragoza (1-1) vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa (2-0, 2 KOs), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Esparragoza soft, Gamboa top shape. Things started slowly, but Gamboa managed to send Esparragoza spiraling to the mat with a huge right hand in the closing seconds that he would be counted out from.

Reggie Johnson (0-1-1) vs. Bernard Hopkins (1-1), 10 rounds, 160 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Johnson was able to make it a jabbing contest early, which helped him remain competitive. Hopkins adjusted and put Johnson down in the 8th round, which would prove very key, as Johnson was able to bounce back and win the final two rounds. Hopkins narrowly escaped with a win, as scorecards read 97-92, 96-93, 95-94 in his favor.

Daniel Zaragoza (2-0, KO) vs. Jeff Fenech (1-1), 10 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Fenech lost a point in round two for rabbit punching and despite his physical advantages, allowed Zaragoza to dictate the style of the fight. By the time Fenech got untracked, he was pretty far behind and unable to make up the ground. Scorecards read 96-93 across the board for Zaragoza, the ultimate overachiever.

Orzubek Nazarov (1-1, KO) vs. Oscar De La Hoya (0-2), 10 rounds, 135 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. After close early rounds, a knockdown in round four and a cut in round five provided some separation for De La Hoya, who was desperately searching for his first win. Oscar would put Nazarov's lights out in the closing moments of the 7th with a wicked uppercut.

Pipino Cuevas (0-1-1) vs. Paul Williams (2-0, KO), 10 rounds, 147 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. In what shaped up to be quite a slugfest, Cuevas' raw power matched up well with Williams' volume punching style as it left him open for massive counters. The fight was close, but Cuevas had huge 6th and 7th rounds as he staggered Williams and nearly had him out on his feet both times. Cuevas would win the remainder of the rounds yet only narrowly won on the cards with scores of 97-93, 96-94 twice in his favor.

Larry Holmes (1-0-1) vs. Buster Douglas (0-2), 10 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Holmes top shape, Douglas overweight. Holmes rendered Douglas a bloody mess early as his jab opened up a nasty gash above his right eye. Douglas never got it under control and was stopped on cuts in round 5.
Result: Larry Holmes TKO5 Buster Douglas via cuts

Charles Brewer (2-0, 2 KOs) vs. Anthony Dirrell (1-1), 12 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Both overtrained. Brewer jumped out to an early lead and seemed poised for an early night as he dropped Dirrell hard in the 3rd, but the younger brother bounced back with a big 4th round. Brewer maintained a steady lead but didn't dominate until late in the fight. Scores read 117-110 twice and 116-111 in favor of Brewer.
Result: Charles Brewer UD12 Anthony Dirrell

Yuri Arbachakov (0-2) vs. Eric Morel (1-1, KO), 12 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. This turned out to be a surprisingly entertaining battle as the two warred it out on the inside for the majority of the fight. Arbachakov had a slight lead until Morel turned his face into a bloody mess in the late rounds and took things over. Final scores were 116-112 twice and 115-113 in favor of Morel.

Raul Perez (2-0, 2 KOs) vs. Paulie Ayala (1-1, KO), 12 rounds, 118 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Ayala did his best to make this a boxing match, and was mostly successful. Perez had moments where he forced a brawl, however, and won a majority of those rounds. With the result still in doubt, Ayala managed to do enough to eek out a victory, winning 115-113 twice and 116-113 on the cards.

Aaron Pryor (2-0, 2 KOs) vs. Kostya Tszyu (1-1), 12 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Pryor had been partying, Tszyu in top shape. Round one saw both fighters in dire straights at various moments in an all-time great opening round. Tszyu seemed to be in control of things when all of a sudden, Pryor landed a massive overhand right in the 4th, putting Tszyu against the ropes. An epic follow-up barrage forced the referee to have no choice but to stop it, allowing Lee Groves to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Gilberto Roman (1-1) vs. Fernando Montiel (1-1, KO), 15 rounds, 115 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. After a fairly quiet few opening rounds, Montiel brought Roman to the canvas with a massive uppercut in the 4th. From there, both men were hurt at various times as defense was neglected in favor of offense. Roman got the point back from the earlier knockdown when he dropped Montiel in the 12th, nearly finishing him for good in that round. If the fight was close, Roman closed the show majorly, dropping Montiel in the 13th and 15th for good measure. The scores read 144-136, 143-136, 144-135 in favor of Roman.

Andrew Fruman (0-2) @ Wolfgang Schiffbauer (1-1)

Moruti Mthalane (0-1) vs. Hussein Hussein (1-1), 10 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Mthalane overtrained, Hussein top shape. Mthalane drubbed Hussein, dropping him in the 3rd and 6th, though Hussein managed to win a few close rounds that featured tons of exchanges. Hussein's right eye became a bloody mess in round 6, and by the 7th he couldn't see, making Mthalane the winner by TKO.

Ricardo Lopez (2-0) vs. Juan Alfonso Keb Baas (1-1), 10 rounds, 108 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Keb Baas put up a surprisingly game challenge, and arguably had the lead at the halfway point of the fight as he avoided big exchanges with the all-time great. In fact, it was Keb Baas who was stronger down the stretch, seemingly winning four of the final five rounds. Somehow, however, the judges disagreed. Scores were 96-95 twice and 96-94 for Lopez, who got a controversial decision in his favor to avoid perhaps the biggest upset so far.

Jiro Watanabe (1-0, KO) vs. Martin Castillo (0-2), 10 rounds, 115 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Castillo hung in there gamely as he absorbed some heavy blows throughout, sometimes getting his shots in too. Castillo managed to save some of his energy and put up a nice rally at the end, but it was a little bit too late, as Watanabe prevailed by scores of 98-93 twice and 96-95.

Gerry Cooney (0-1) vs. Evander Holyfield (0-2), 10 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Cooney in top shape, Holyfield overtrained. Holyfield wasted no time getting after Cooney, who held his own in the opening round. Holyfield turned up the heat in the 2nd and 3rd, finally buckling Cooney, who somehow stayed upright. Holyfield teed off until the referee stopped it in the 3rd.

Luisito Espinosa (0-2) vs. Bobby Chacon (1-1, KO), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Chacon had little issue with Espinosa, beating him up for nearly the distance until dropping him twice in the final round. Espinosa got up both times, but had nothing left after the final knockdown and wound up TKOed.

Welcome Ncita (1-1) vs. Wilfredo Gomez (2-0, KO), 10 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Neither guy established much of an advantage early on with nearly every round being close. Ncita managed to have more left down the stretch and worked Gomez to the body, slowing him down. In a surprising upset, Ncita won 97-93 and 96-94 on the cards against one 97-94 in favor of Gomez.

Carl Froch (0-2) vs. Andre Dirrell (0-2), 10 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Froch top shape, Dirrell bone dry. Froch wasted no time staggering Dirrell in the opening 30 seconds, and never let up. Dirrell got caught on the ropes where Froch unleashed a heavy flurry, prompting the referee to stop it. An emphatic TKO1.

Jeff Chandler (0-1) vs. Lupe Pintor (2-0, KO), 10 rounds, 118 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Chandler had Pintor on his heels right away, pounding away in the opening round after forcing a knockdown in the opening seconds. Chandler had established a sizable lead through the first five rounds when Pintor began coming on. Chandler won the 9th, which was huge, as it allowed him to edge Pintor on the cards. Scores were 96-93, 95-93 twice.

Julian Jackson (2-0) vs. Fernando Vargas (1-1, KO), 10 rounds, 154 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. As can be imagined, this was a slugfest from the opening bell. The two traded on even terms until Vargas scored a 4th round knockdown, which Jackson managed to recover from almost immediately. Jackson cut Vargas in the following round, and just like that, delivered a two-punch combination that put Vargas down harshly. He wouldn't beat the count and Jackson had an explosive KO.

Felix Trinidad (0-2) vs. Simon Brown (0-2), 10 rounds, 147 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Trinidad was well in control, landing almost at will in the first handful of rounds. In the 4th, Trinidad was doing work when Brown caught him flush for a flash knockdown. Trinidad fought smarter after the knockdown. Brown had Trinidad hurt a few more times down the stretch, and the judges seemed to favor his harder punches rather than Trinidad's boxing. One judge had it 95-95 while two had it for Brown, 96-93, 95-94. Trinidad STILL without a win.

Marvin Johnson (1-0, KO) vs. Glen Johnson (1-1), 12 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Marvin overtrained, Glen top shape. Glen had a big round one, which Marvin answered right back. Glen cut Marvin over the left eye in the 4th and proceeded to take the next few rounds. Marvin ended up taking over down the stretch, and Glen was cut by an accidental headbut. Marvin was dominating the 12th when the fight was stopped due to Glen's cut, sending things to the scorecards. Final scores were 106-104, 105-104 twice in favor of...Marvin Johnson! A close win he pulled out.

Michael Watson (0-1) vs. Felix Sturm (1-1), 12 rounds, 160 pounds
Summary: Watson soft, Sturm top shape. Similar to the last fight, this one ended early due to a headbutt as the two clashed heads in round 10, sending things to the scorecards. Though many felt Watson did enough for the win, Sturm won via 87-84 scores thrice.

Frankie Randall (2-0) vs. Timothy Bradley (2-0, KO), 12 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. An inside fight all the way, Randall forced separation with an 8th round knockdown from an uppercut. At the end of it, Randall just did more throughout, winning 116-112 on all three cards.

Pernell Whitaker (2-0) vs. Shane Mosley (2-0, KO), 12 rounds, 135 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. A tactical battle of speed and power against power and speed, Whitaker jumped out to an early lead before Mosley came on late. Scores ended up reading 115-114 Mosley, 115-113 Whitaker, and a ridiculously wide 118-111 for Whitaker.

Genaro Hernandez (0-2) vs. Rafael Limon (1-0-1, KO), 15 rounds, 130 pounds
Summary: Limon swarmed Hernandez from the outset, and once Genaro tasted his power it was all over. Limon got to him in the 5th with a heavy barrage he was unable to withstand.

Bronco McKart (0-2) vs. Terry Norris (0-1-1), 10 rounds, 154 pounds
Summary: McKart overtrained, Norris in top shape. Outside of a flash knockdown McKart scored in the 3rd, Norris pretty much had his way of things and finally picked up his first win. Scores were 96-93 across the board.

Diego Morales (1-1, KO) vs. Robert Quiroga (0-2), 10 rounds, 115 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. It was a back and forth battle until Quiroga nearly put Morales' lights out in the 8th with a massive round. Morales, to his credit, answered back in the 9th. Both fighters landed some solid shots in the 10th. In the end, Quiroga narrowly edged Morales, winning 98-94 and 96-95 twice on the cards.

Tommy Morrison (1-0-1, KO) vs. Lamon Brewster (1-1, KO), 10 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Morrison had been partying, Brewster in top shape. As can be expected, this was an action-packed heavyweight slugfest. Morrison got off to a good start, but found himself on the canvas in both the 5th and 6th rounds. Morrison was having a solid 5th until a Brewster right hand put him on queer street and on the canvas. Morrison was down again in the 7th, narrowly avoiding a TKO. A fourth knockdown would see Morrison get up again, but this time Pat Russell stopped it after he absorbed a few more hard shots.

Buddy McGirt (1-0-1) vs. Cory Spinks (1-0-1), 10 rounds, 147 pounds
Summary: McGirt soft, Spinks in top shape. Spinks got off to a good start, cutting McGirt above the right eye in the 2nd. McGirt evened things up with a big knockdown in the 3rd. Spinks worked the cut with his right jab in round 4, busting it open widely to the point that the fight had to be stopped. Spinks with an upset TKO.

Tim Austin (1-1, KO) vs. Joseph Agbeko (1-0-1), 10 rounds, 118 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Agbeko's volume punching troubled Austin in the early goings, but he got untracked in round 4. The middle rounds all belonged to Austin, though Agbeko had a good 9th round. If the fight was close, Austin sealed it with a 10th round knockdown. Scores were 97-92 and 96-93 twice for Austin.

Kennedy McKinney (1-1, KO) vs. Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym (0-2), 10 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Poonsawat managed to outman McKinney in the early going, roughing him up on the inside. He looked to have a solid lead when McKinney dropped him in the 8th out of nowhere with a hard hook, and put him down a second time while he was badly hurt. The knockdowns would end up costing Poon a win, as scores were 95-93 for McKinney and 94-94 twice for a majority draw.

Jose Luis Castillo (1-1, KO) vs. Juan Lazcano (0-2), 10 rounds, 135 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Castillo obliterated Lazcano, dropping him in the 3rd round, cutting him badly above the left eye in the 4th. He took a pounding before the fight was halted due to the severity of the cut in round six.

Emanuel Augustus (0-2) vs. Ivan Robinson (0-2), 10 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Augustus top shape, Robinson out of shape. A highly entertaining boxing match broke out in this one. The two would slug it out on occasion as well as they traded rounds. Robinson hurt his hand in the 9th round very badly after bouncing it off the top of Augustus' head, and in the 10th the fight was stopped as he couldn't continue. Scores were 86-85 Robinson, 86-85 and 87-84 for Augustus at the time of the stoppage.

John David Jackson (1-0-1) vs. Gerald McClellan (1-1), 10 rounds, 160 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. McClellan came out guns blazing, but Jackson's boxing ability gave him fits. In the fourth, a jab opened a cut above G-Man's left eye. Jackson put McClellan down in the 5th after a nice combination. McClellan was having one of his best rounds in the 6th when the cuts under his eye and in his mouth forced the fight to be stopped.

Jorge Arce (1-1, KO) vs. Danny Romero (2-0, KO), 10 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Arce was able to lure Romero into a slugfest, but in the middle rounds, Romero boxed from the outside with great success. In round 7, Romero cut Arce above the left eye and then seconds later, put Arce on the canvas for a short count. Round 8 was action packed as the two slugged it out, Romero coming out ahead. Sensing he was behind, Arce went for it in the final rounds, but was dropped in the 10th as he got too careless. Scores read 96-93 thrice for Romero.

Manuel Medina (2-0) vs. Erik Morales (2-0, 2 KOs), 12 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Medina was able to make it an ugly fight, frustrating Morales with his holding. Morales finally broke through in the 9th, dropping Medina with a sizzling combination. Medina would get dropped in the 11th and 12th but was saved by the bell in the final round. Scores were 117-108, 116-109 twice for Morales.

Hector Camacho (1-1) vs. Joel Casamayor (1-1), 12 rounds, 130 pounds
Summary: Camacho overtrained, Casamayor top shape. Camacho was able to win the rounds where the tempo was fast while Casamayor controlled rounds where he was able to limit Camacho's output while landing counters. The judges were more impressed by Camacho, who won 116-112 and 115-113 while one card read 114-114.

Nigel Benn (1-1) vs. Andre Ward (2-0), 12 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. The two battled fiercely on the inside through five rounds when Benn cracked Ward on the top of the head in the 6th, hurting his hand so badly that the fight had to be stopped immediately.
Result: Andre Ward TKO6 Nigel Benn via injury

Saman Sorjaturong (1-1) vs. Michael Carbajal (1-1, KO), 12 rounds, 108 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Carbajal thoroughly dismantled a game Sorjaturong, who made it a brawl, one that Carbajal won every step of the way. It looked as though Sorjaturong would see the final bell, but he visited the canvas twice in the 12th and was stopped on his feet, avoiding further punishment.

Michael Spinks (2-0) vs. Matthew Saad Muhammad (1-1), 15 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Spinks was lucky to make it out of the opening round, as Saad jumped all over him. Spinks was unable to make it a boxing match, and it would lead to his demise. Saad swarmed him in the 4th, battering him for 2:58 before the referee wisely stopped the assassination. Minor upset and a cap in the feather of Saad.

Mark Ortega def. Mario Ortega via 9-5-1

Otis Griffin (0-2) @ Mike Coppinger (1-0-1)

Eric Ortiz (0-2) vs. Juanito Rubillar (1-0-1), 10 rounds, 108 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. In a nice evenly matched bout, Ortiz took control in the third and fourth after two close opening stanzas. Rubillar woke up in the fifth and sixth, staggering Ortiz in the latter. Once Rubillar got control, it seemed as though he didn't relieve it, but the rounds were mostly close. Once it reached the cards, scores were 96-94 Ortiz, 96-94 Rubillar, 95-95, for a split draw.

Joe Calzaghe (1-1, KO) vs. Sakio Bika (0-2), 10 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Calzaghe soft, Bika in good shape. Calzaghe had issues until round six when he dropped Bika with an uppercut. Until then, Bika was trying to make it a dirty, mauling kind of fight. Out of nowhere, Bika hurt Calzaghe in the eighth and scored a flash knockdown. Calzaghe responded with a massive ninth round where he put Bika down again. A vicious cross scored a 10th round knockdown, which would begin Bika's downfall, as he visited the canvas twice more in the round, the last one leaving him out cold.

Chris John (2-0, KO) vs. Jorge Solis (0-2), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: John had a hard time boxing in this one, as Solis was able to force exchanges early. John settled in late in the fight, but had to overcome a deficit. Eventually, the scorecards read 96-95 John and 95-95 twice, making it a majority draw.

Dwight Muhammad Qawi (1-1) vs. Tavoris Cloud (1-1), 10 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Qawi won the battle on the inside, though Cloud was game. Aided by a third round knockdown, Qawi had no issues grinding his opponent to a wide decision. 99-91, 97-93 twice in his favor.

Alejandro Montiel (0-1-1) vs. Koki Kameda (1-1, KO), 10 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Kameda quite easily won the first four rounds, when all of a sudden, Montiel dropped Kameda in a heap. Koki made it up at the count of nine barely, and weathered the storm. Kameda would rebound and drop Montiel with a massive shot in the seventh, which Montiel would not get up from.

Junior Jones (0-2) vs. Lehlo Ledwaba (0-2), 10 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. In what was a war early on, Jones managed to drop Ledwaba early in the second and nearly got him out of there. The two exchanged heavy blows for the duration of the even third round. Ledwaba landed his own Hail Mary in the fourth, putting Jones down to even things up. Things cooled off as both guys fought with less zip on their punches, very tired. The fight surprisingly reached the final bell. Scores were 95-94 Ledwaba, 94-94 even twice, making both guys still in search of their first win.

Abner Mares (0-2) vs. Carlos Zarate (1-1, KO), 10 rounds, 118 pounds

Summary: Both in top shape. After Ballas established an early lead by outboxing Darchinyan, Vic dropped Ballas in the 8th round hard. Ballas had a nice 9th and was enjoying a good 10th before Vic dropped him again out of nowhere. The final scores tabulated as 96-91 twice and 94-93 for Darchinyan.

Vito mounted a miniature comeback but in the 8th round was absolutely pounded, somehow staying on his feet until the fight was waved off.

Summary: Leija overtrained, Escalera top shape. Outside of a few minutes, Leija got pounded until Escalera dropped him in the 8th round. Leija would go down twice more in the 11th but somehow see the final bell to the tune of wide scores of 116-108 three times.

Broner was able to rebound and take the final two rounds big, but the final scores read 114-113 thrice in favor of Katsidis, who stole a win.

Summary: Both in top shape. In what was a torridly paced war, both guys entered the championship rounds out of gas but with tons of heart. It was an even fight with Cotto trying to box in the late rounds and Maidana trying to brawl. Maidana produced a 13th round knockdown to seemingly take the lead. Cotto bounced back with a solid 14th that could've gone either way, and in the 15th somehow managed to knock Maidana down. The scorecards read 143-140 twice and 142-141 in favor of Cotto.

Hagler responded by dropping Taylor again in the 5th. The 6th round saw the fight get stopped due to the severity of the cut Taylor was dealing with for the whole fight.

Summary: Both in top shape. After a big opening round from Curry, Breland worked himself into the fight, boxing rather well. A big cross in an otherwise unimpressive 7th round put Breland down. A cross to the head produced the same result in the 8th, and though Breland got up, referee Telis Assimenios had seen enough

Summary: Both in top shape. Donaire barely survived two 1st round knockdowns that had him looking like he was finished before he got back to his corner. An uppercut in the 2nd produced a third knockdown. The inevitable was only delayed, as Donaire was gamely stopped while on his feet in the 4th round.

Summary: Both in top shape. Gatti managed to get dropped in the 1st round, but battled back to put Uchiyama on the defense. Gatti responded by dropping Uchiyama twice in the 2nd, though the Japanese fighter was able to beat both counts. Gatti would end up overwhelming Uchiyama in the 3rd, earning a TKO with Uchiyama hanging defenseless on the ropes.

Danny Lopez (0-2) vs. Jorge Linares (0-2), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Both are tip-top. Linares got off to his usual hot start, dropping Lopez with a flash knockdown. Linares reproduced the feat in the 2nd, this time a legit knockdown where Lopez was hurt. Luckily the bell came soon after. Lopez had a massive 5th, hurting Linares upstairs with some heavy artillery. Lopez was arguably back in the fight with just a few rounds remaining as he took advantage of Linares' shortcomings when it came to pacing himself. The 10th was another close one and the scores read 95-95 Lopez, 96-92 Linares, and 95-93 for Linares, who scored a mild indecision upset.

Hugo Soto (1-1) vs. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (1-0-1), 10 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Soto inactive, Wonjongkam undertrained. A boorish fight, neither guy accomplished much until Wonjongkam cut Soto in the 5th. Prior to that, Pongsaklek was controlling the fight but not decisively. Soto had a good 6th and started the subsequent rounds off great but would allow Pongsaklek to work back into them and take the rounds by the end. Soto arguably won the final two rounds but still came up short, via 97-93 twice and 96-94.

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (0-2) vs. Dariusz Michalczewski (2-0), 10 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Dariusz frustrated Muhammad in the first couple of rounds and cauight him coming in wild with an overhand right, putting Muhammad down for nearly the full count. He made it up and took a beating the remainder of the round. Muhammad got untracked a bit in the 6th but wasn't dominating any rounds, they could've gone either way. In the 9th however, he caught Michalczewski and put him to the canvas, though only for a short count. Dariusz left no doubt, dominating the 10th and picked up the win by scores of 98-92 twice and 97-93.

Riddick Bowe (2-0, KO) vs. Vitali Klitschko (2-0, 2 KOs), 10 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Bowe badly out of shape, Vitali perfect. After an awesome opening round from Bowe, Klitschko began finding the proper distance and popped laser like jabs and straights. Klitschko pounded Bowe in the 5th, ultimately dropping him to the canvas following a major barrage. Bowe could not beat the count and Klitschko got the TKO5.

Summary: Both in top shape. A very tight matchup that saw Eubank box well on the inside, holding Toney to keep from working his fight. Eventually, Toney had found a way to box with Eubank, though he wasn't doing much more than stealing a round here and there. Eubank managed to drop Toney in the 8th, who won the 9th and 10th. Scores all favored Eubank 98-92, 96-93 twice.

Summary: Martinez tip-top, Kirkland not satisfied with the purse. Martinez smoothly dissected Kirkland, dropping him in the 5th, 6th, and also dealing him a cut in the 8th. Martinez ultimately walked to a wide decision by scores of 119-107, 118-109, 117-109.

Summary: Both tip-top. Seda was extremely game but Galaxy caught up to him and put him down in the 10th. That feat would be duplicated in the 11th and 12th as Galaxy won a lopsided decision by scores of 119-107 twice and 119-108.

Summary: Rosario on short notice, Pacquiao prime. The fight was fought at a torrid pace and at the halfway point it was a pretty even fight. Rosario was able to match Pacquiao's fire on the inside and stay away from massive lefts for the most part. Rosario ran into a left hook in the 8th and promptly took a count. A cross in the 10th would put him down early in the 10th, and though Rosario would get up, he would get blitzed and stopped standing. TKO10.

Summary: Both in top shape. Canizales jumped out to an early lead, but at the midway point, Marquez started landing at will when Canizales began to slow down. The fight was dead even through 10. Marquez put Canizales down in the 11th and had him nearly out. They traded rounds until the 14th when Marquez had Canizales down again. The late rounds ended up making the difference as Marquez won 143-139 on all three scorecards.

Summary: Both in top shape. Roman fought in the trenches with Morales, who fared pretty well in that situation. Roman switched it up a bit and used his superior boxing ability in the 3rd to separate himself. Morales hung tough to his credit, and Roman was only narrowly winning rounds. Roman had big rounds in the 7th and 8th as though he was pulling away, but Morales responded with a big 9th round, leaving the fight hanging in the balance headed into the final round. Roman had a big 10th round to seal it up, winning by scores of 97-94, 96-95, and 95-95 for a majority decision.

Summary: Cazares bone dry, Sorjaturong top shape. A great action fight that Cazares was winning, even winning the 7th round before Sorjaturong caught him flush and dropped him. From there, Sorjaturong dropped him again in the 8th to give himself some breathing room on the cards. Final scores were 96-92 twice, 96-93 for Sorjaturong.

Summary: Both in top shape. It took Pryor eight rounds, but he finally got to Augustus, dropping him three times before Jay Nady finally stopped it.

Summary: Both in top shape. A pretty slow fight for the first couple rounds, Austin exploded in rounds 3 and 4 to buzz Perez badly and expend a lot of energy trying to get him out. In round 5, out of nowhere Perez landed a right hook to the temple that put Austin down and took his equilibrium. He made it to his feet but was not in any shape to continue, and Raul Caiz Sr. stopped it with 13 seconds left in the round.

Summary: Both in top shape. Arce visited the canvas in the first minute on a flash knockdown. Arce settled in and was doing great work in the 3rd before another flash knockdown occurred against him.  In the 4th, Arce went down again, but this time he was in legitimate trouble. In the 5th, Arce cut Arbachakov with an open glove above the right eye and it was bad enough that the fight got stopped immediately, making Arce the TKO winner after being on the canvas thrice! Jose Cobian missed the call.

Larry Holmes (1-0) vs. Tommy Morrison (1-0, KO), 10 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Holmes overtrained, Morrison in top shape. Holmes must have overtrained thinking he did not want to lose to a white boy. Morrison tumbled to the mat in the 2nd from a good shot up top. Tommy came back gamely, winning rounds 4 and 5 arguably. Round 6 was trench warfare and it was clear Morrison had at least earned Larry's respect. In the 7th, Morrison caught Holmes with a slick combination and the follow-up put the Easton Assassin on the canvas! Morrison edged round 8 and arguably it was his fight to lose at this point. Neither guy did hardly anything in the 9th but the lean had to be to Morrison. Morrison also won the 10th. In the end, the scores were 95-95, 96-93 Holmes, and 94-94, making it a majority draw. Most felt that Morrison had been badly robbed in this one and felt he won the last five rounds including the knockdown.

Antonio Esparragoza (1-0) vs. Manuel Medina (1-0), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Medina surprised Esparragoza, dropping him in the opening minute. Esparragoza picked things up in the 3rd and by the halfway point had made up all the ground he lost in the first six minutes. Medina came with his own rally of sorts, though it was Esparragoza who closed with a nice 10th round. Still, all three judges had it 96-93 in favor of Medina.

Summary: Both in top shape. It was an extremely technical bout that was hard to gauge who was having the most success, and not totally surprising, it ended in a split draw. 97-93 for Johnson, 96-94 for Jackson, 95-95.

Daniel Zaragoza (1-0, KO) vs. Kennedy McKinney (1-0, KO), 10 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. It was a dirty, sloppy, but entertaining fight on the inside and it felt as though McKinney was the more skillful. McKinney lost a point in the 8th for mean tactics, and Zaragoza won more rounds decisively, winning 98-92, 97-92, and 96-93. The scores were way, way, way too wide.

Summary: Cuevas in top shape, McGirt had personal problems. Cuevas more or less was in control through four or five rounds until McGirt caught him with a wild haymaker to drop him in the 6th. More close rounds followed as McGirt boxed and Cuevas tried to bang. The end result were scores of 95-94 Cuevas, 96-95 McGirt, and 95-95, a split draw.

Summary: Both in top shape. McKart down in the 7th and twice in the 10th en route to Rosi winning via 10th round TKO. McKart didn't win a round and wasn't competitive at all.

Summary: Both in top shape. Brewer down in the 1st but bounced back. Brewer was down twice more in the 4th, again in the 5th, and appeared headed for the shower. However, in the 6th, Brewer dropped Benn with a massive hook, and put him down a second time before the round was over. Benn rallied in the 7th but again found himself on the canvas in the 8th twice more. The second time, Benn didn't get up in a massive upset. Benn was ahead 67-60, 66-61, and 65-61 at the time of the stoppage.

Summary: Both in top shape. It was a crowd-pleasing inside fight that saw Nazarov overcome an early deficit before getting dropped in the 8th. Castillo added two knockdowns in the 9th and Nazarov didn't get up again.

Still, with one hand, Pernell was able to fend off Lazcano for the most part, who was surprisingly game. Whitaker narrowly edged the win, with scores of 96-94 twice and 97-93 in his favor.

Summary: Spinks perfect, Trinidad overtrained. Spinks was surprisingly dominant in the opening portion of the fight, winning a jabfest while also doing some pretty solid work inside. Trinidad had a difficult time figuring out Spinks' style as Cory held on the inside whenever Trinidad tried getting his combinations going. Trinidad had a massive 8th round, which began a momentum swing that continued all the way down the stretch. Sensing a major upset slipping away, Spinks made the 10th ugly, which favored his style of fighting. Scores were 96-94 for Spinks, 96-95 for Trinidad and 96-94 for the winner....Cory Spinks!

Summary: Romero perfect, Mthalane a bit soft. Mthalane was very much in the fight, though Romero's power proved the equalizer. Mthalane visited the canvas in the 9th and Romero sensed blood in the 10th, putting him down a second time. Romero won on the cards 98-90 twice and 96-91.

Summary: Both in top shape. Espinosa's style matched very well with Morales, as their collective aggression produced a lot of close rounds, and now and then Espinosa would step back and counter. At the halfway mark, it was anyone's fight, and even as Morales came on, Espinosa was very much in it. That is, until Morales caught him with an unreal combination, putting his lights out for a ten count in the 9th round.

Summary: Both in top shape. Two guys who historically go to war, nothing but a good fight could come of it. Round one saw intense back-and-forth action. Poonsawat took a trip to the canvas in the 2nd courtesy of a nice barrage inside. Ncita established control at that point, but Poonsawat began coming on in the 7th. In the end, Ncita held off Poonsawat and prevailed by scores of 97-92 and 96-93 twice.

Summary: Brewster in top shape, Cooney had been partying. After two poor opening rounds, Cooney bounced back and turned it into a fight, edging rounds 3 and 4. Eventually, Cooney walked into a right uppercut in round 7 and went down in a heap and didn't get up. Scores were 57-57 across the board at the time of the stoppage.

Summary: Both in top shape. Hernandez was cut above the right eye in the opening minute and Casamayor tried taking immediate advantage. Hernandez performed valiantly, winning early rounds as he dealt with the bleeding. Casamayor targeted the bleeding, making it difficult for Hernandez to mount much offense. In the end, Joel won a decision by scores of 97-93 across the board.

Summary: McClellan undertrained, Watson in tip-top. G-Man jumped on Watson like he does all his opponents, opening up a cut in round 2. After a good round from Watson in the 4th, G-Man dropped him in round 5 with a wicked combination. With blood gushing from his mouth, Watson responded with a massive 6th round after McClellan had him hurt in the early part. Watson had McClellan hurt again in the 7th. McClellan got a second wind and took some close rounds down the stretch to come away with a 98-93, 98-91, 97-94 decision.

Terry Norris (0-0-1) vs. Julian Jackson (1-0), 10 rounds, 154 pounds
Summary: Norris paunch, Jackson tip-top. Norris didn't learn from losing a point against Sergio Martinez in his last fight, which cost him a win, and he fought dirty early against Jackson. Jackson cut Norris in the 3rd. Jackson had a massive 4th round, staggering Norris early though was unable to drop him. Norris started strong in the 5th, but Jackson came on and then dropped Norris with an uppercut in the 6th. Norris scored a flash knockdown to the body in the 7th, though Jackson didn't seem badly hurt. The cut over Norris' left eye became problematic and the doctor kept taking a look. A foul-filled 7th round was hard to gauge a winner in. Unsurprisingly, Norris finally lost a point in the 10th, a round he dominated. Once again, the lost point cost him, as Jackson won 95-94 on two cards and 96-93 on a third. Norris would've gotten a draw without the point deduction.

Summary: Both in top shape. Johnson did a good job frustrating Saad early on, stifling his effectiveness. Saad found a bit of a groove in the 4th, and a hook upstairs dropped Johnson in the 6th. Out of nowhere in round 8, Johnson put Saad in bad trouble and dropped him. Saad got up rather quickly, but was far from recovered, and Johnson jumped all over him, stopping him on his feet.

Ivan Robinson (0-1) vs. Frankie Randall (1-0), 12 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Robinson was in every single round, often ahead down the stretch, but Randall would find a way to steal the round in the last 30 seconds almost every time. Randall didn't edge the 7th, instead he put Robinson down for an eight count. Mighty Ivan suffered a cut in round 8. Robinson knew he was in trouble and picked things up, winning rounds 9 and 10.  The 11th was close but likely Randall's, and Robinson picked up the 12th. The scores were 115-112 Randall, 114-114, and  114-113 as Randall very narrowly edged a majority decision. Robinson won the last 4 rounds on two scorecards as Fruman's strategy nearly backfired.

Summary: Quiroga soft, Watanabe top shape. An inside fight, Quiroga was effective at times but Watanabe on another level. A bad cut over Quiroga's right eye proved an issue. It would eventually lead to a TKO7 stoppage for Watanabe.

Summary: Both in top shape. Agbeko built an early lead thanks to volume punching, though Chandler rocked him to the body in the 2nd. Chandler had a necessarily massive 6th round. An even 7th was sandwiched by a huge Agbeko 8th. After arguably splitting the next two, Chandler had a big 11th, realizing the fight was in danger. The 12th was extremely close, but Agbeko narrowly won it. The final scores tabulated as 115-113 Chandler, 115-113 Agbeko, and 115-113 for...Agbeko in an important upset. Team Ortega needs one win in final two to secure W, a draw secures at least a draw.

Summary: Both in top shape. Ward showed an utter dominance that was unexpected early on. Froch seemed fresher as the second half of the fight begin and things were close to evened up. Most rounds were really close, but Ward was more effectively aggressive. He had a plan throughout whereas Froch seemed mostly lost. That was reflected on the scorecards as Ward won 117-111, 117-112 twice to earn his time a W.

Summary: Both are in top shape. Lopez did a fine job making it a boxing match in the early-goings. Carbajal had a few things going his way, but Lopez outboxed and outskilled him. Surprisingly it was Carbajal who had more energy down the final stretch. The fight was superbly technical and each round was super close. The scores were 144-142 for both Carbajal and Lopez, with a 144-143 score being rendered in favor or Lopez.

Summary: Both in top shape. After a ugly opening round, Donaire sparked things up a bit by dropping Keb Baas early in the 2nd. While Donaire was fighting effectively, Keb Baas was fighting dirty. Keb Baas had moments in the fight but more or less allowed Donaire ton control the action. Keb Baas had successful 7th and 8th rounds, but that progress was erased by a 9th round knockdown. Donaire prevailed via 98-92, 96-94, 96-93 scores.

Summary: Hussein in top shape, Soto rusty. Soto didn't portray any rust, getting off to a good start, dropping Hussein with an uppercut in the 2nd. Hussein was enjoying a solid 4th round until he was sent to the canvas a second time. Hussein walked into another uppercut in the 5th and went down again. Hussein battled back nicely but was outgunned. Hussein managed to get to the scorecards but lost widely, 100-87 twice and 99-89.

Summary: Both in top shape. Gomez had no problems here, battering Machado into the canvas in the 5th. Another knockdown was issued in the 6th, Machado got up, only to go down in the 7th, this time for good. Machado still lays in a heap as this fight report gets written.

Summary: Both in top shape. A close battle saw Seda take over at the middle point of the fight, he was able to box well on the inside and avoid Castillo's attack. Seda ended up picking up the decision, winning by scores of 99-92, 99-93, and 97-95 in a close but clear victory.

Summary: Johnson in top shape, Muhammad soft in the middle. Johnson exploited Muhammad's lack of preparation right away, dropping him with a well-placed body shot in the opening minute. Johnson got untracked with a good 3rd round, and the 4th was extremely close. Both guys did solid work on the inside. Muhammad had a tremendous 7th round where Johnson was badly hurt from a heavy barrage. Johnson's early lead seemed to have slipped away, but he won a much needed 9th round. In the end, it was the difference, as Johnson won on two cards 96-94 with an even 95-95 card being overruled.

Lupe Pintor (1-0, KO) vs. Orlando Canizales (0-0-1, KO), 10 rounds, 118 pounds
Summary: Pintor in top shape, Canizales soft. Despite Canizales' less than appealing physique, it didn't hurt his workrate. The two went right at each other at the start, but the fight became a boxing match after the first three minutes. Pintor suffered a bad cut over the right eye in the 3rd from a headbutt. Pintor got to work and put some rounds in his back pocket, and the fight was ultimately sent to the scorecards after seven completed rounds. In a close one, Pintor prevailed by scores of 68-66 twice with one card even 67-67.

Evander Holyfield (0-1) vs. Riddick Bowe (1-0, KO), 10 rounds,
Summary: Prime Holyfield, out of shape Bowe. Knowing he wasn't in the best shape, Bowe went for it early, beating up the Real Deal in the 1st and 2nd, tabulating a knockdown in the latter. Holyfield began to take over as Bowe fought and survived mostly on heart as his conditioning was garbage. With the fight seemingly slipping away, Bowe delivered a lethal combination in the 10th to add a much needed knockdown. The margin of victory ended up being a bit greated as Bowe won 97-92, 96-92, 97-93.

Simon Brown (0-1) vs. Donald Curry (0-0-1), 10 rounds, 147 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. This one unsurprisingly had tons of good action as both showcased their chins. Curry put Brown down in the 4th with a nice combo that landed flush to the chin. Brown answered with a big 5th. It was Curry's turn to go down in the 8th after Curry had been boxing well. Curry responded with a knockdown of his own in the 9th and this was a barnburner. Curry would score one more flash knockdown before the end of the round. The late knockdowns proved key for Curry, who won via 95-92 twice and 96-91.

Timothy Bradley (1-0) vs. Ricky Hatton (1-0, KO), 10 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Bradley in top shape, Hatton soft. The fight looked poised to be entertaining as the two exchanged nasty blows on the inside. Bradley managed to cut up Hatton bad and the fight came to an unsatisfying premature end in round 2, making Bradley the TKO winner.

Summary: Mosley soft, Rosario on short notice. After a close early going, Rosario got put down in the 3rd and backed off a bit. Mosley added two more knockdowns in the 5th. Mosley had no problem running away with it, winning 98-90, 97-92, 97-91.

Summary: Both in top shape. In a battle of Vargas' aggression and Martinez's ring generalship, both guys had sustained success. But it was Martinez who caught Vargas with a YouTube highlight reel left hand in the 5th that ended Vargas' night. A one-punch knockout.

Summary: Both in top shape. As expected, this was an all-out war for as long as it lasted, though it was surprisingly one-sided. Chacon overwhelmed Lopez, ultimately pounding him against the ropes to a third-round stoppage.

Summary: Both in top shape. Another fight worth the price of admission. Absolute slugfest. The two warriors took turns pounding each other's face in. Limon had Gatti in real trouble in the 4th. Limon has a bleeding cut over the right eye and Gatti's right eye is nearly swollen shut at the end of five. Gatti goes down in the 8th from a grazing blow and now his left eye is in trouble. Limon takes full advantage and turns Gatti's eye into a slit. The doctor has seen enough and Limon is the TKO victor.

Felix Sturm (1-0) vs. Marvin Hagler (1-0, KO), 12 rounds, 160 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Sturm obviously in over his head but handled himself surprisingly well. Sturm's jab kept Hagler frustrated and unable to really press for the kill. An 8th round uppercut dropped Sturm and he barely survived. A 9th round hook put him down a second time. Sturm down a third time in the 10th but again valiantly makes it to his feet. Sturm would go down in the 12th with little time remaining, get to his feet, and have the fight waved off with seven seconds left.

Andre Dirrell (0-1) vs. James Toney (0-1), 15 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Dirrell overtrained, Toney managerial issues. Dirrell suffered a gushing cut over the right eye in the 1st. Dirrell tried making it ugly, holding and fighting on the inside, but Toney was able to work out of it and punish Dirrell to the body. Dirrell dominated Toney in the 5th, utilizing all his boxing skills. Unfortunately, Dirrell's cut was terrible and the fight got stopped in the 6th.

Giovani Segura (1-0) vs. Eric Ortiz (0-1), 10 rounds, 108 pounds
Summary: Segura in great shape, Ortiz took it on short notice. An all-action bout, unsurprisingly, Segura jumped on Ortiz at the opening bell and battered him for three minutes. Ortiz survived and settled into the fight, dominating the action in the third. No defense at all in this fight as the two just traded bombs, with Segura doing more damage consistently. Though Ortiz was game, Segura finally got to him in the 6th and stopped him standing.

Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (1-0) vs. Alejandro Montiel (0-1), 10 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Wonjongkam jumped to an early lead, sweeping the first three rounds, before Montiel started narrowing the lead. Montiel arguably won four through six, though they were extremely close. Wonjongkam got things going again in the 7th, boxing well from the outside. The two split the final two rounds, leaving the result in heavy doubt. One judge had it 97-95 for Montiel, another had it 95-95, and the third had it 95-95, making it a majority draw.

Takashi Uchiyama (1-0, KO) vs. Jesse James Leija (0-0-1), 10 rounds, 130 pounds
Summary: Uchiyama in top shape, Leija overtrained. Leija showed little trouble in the early going, controlling the pace and boxing well until Uchiyama staggered him in the 4th. Uchiyama began landing an uppercut with regularity, and Leija began to lose the fight on the inside. Another extremely close fight, Uchiyama had Leija hurt at the final bell. Still, Uchiyama came up just short, losing 96-94 on all three cards.

Jermain Taylor (1-0) vs. Julio Cesar Green (0-1), 10 rounds, 130 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Green caught Taylor off guard, forcing a fight from the get-go, even hurting Taylor various times. An incredible amount of action saw both guys do heavy damage and Taylor was visibly tired at the halfway mark. Taylor's left eye was a swollen mess as Green started to come on. Taylor summoned some energy in the 10th but faded down the stretch, allowing Green to steal it. One judge had it 96-94 for Taylor, which was overruled by two 96-96 scores, making it another majority draw.

Manny Pacquiao (1-0, KO) vs. Michael Katsidis (0-1), 10 rounds, 135 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Katsidis was game as hell, taking a hellacious beating. Katsidis managed to buckle Pacquiao a number of times as Manny got lured into a firefight. Round five was unbelievable as Pacquiao had Katsidis nearly out before Mick came back and worked him to a standstill. Not surprisingly, Katsidis suffered massive swelling under his right eye after absorbing unreal punishment in the 6th. That motivated Katsidis to deliver a great 7th round. The doctor took another look at the eye at the end of the 9th but allowed it to continue. At the halfway mark in the final round, another look was taken and Katsidis was deemed unable to continue. A valiant effort, but a TKO win for Pacquiao.

Khaosai Galaxy (1-0) vs. Gustavo Ballas (1-0), 10 rounds, 115 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. The fight started off slowly but began heating up around the middle rounds, with no guy establishing dominance up until then. Rounds were traded tit-for-tat until Galaxy began coming away with it in the 8th. Ballas would deliver his best round in the 9th, as he hurt Galaxy badly and jumped on him. Ballas would take that success into the 10th, allowing him to earn a majority draw. Scores were 96-96 twice and 97-94 for Galaxy.

Mark Breland (0-1) vs. Zab Judah (1-0), 10 rounds, 147 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Judah was of a higher class, but in the middle rounds, Breland began closing the gap as Judah faded like he usually does. Zab was able to snap out of it in the 8th, dominating down the stretch. Judah would end up dropping Breland hard early in the 10th, only to put him on the canvas twice more. Breland got up each time, but after the third knockdown, Lou Moret stopped the fight with one second left. Heading into the 10th, Judah was ahead 86-85 on two cards and 87-84 on a third.

Jorge Linares (0-1) vs. Chris John (1-0, KO), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. John went to work, boxing nicely before Linares shocked him by landing a crushing blow to the ribcage, which John was able to barely beat the count over. Linares' power often proved problematic for John, who was unable to get into a rhythm. A cross from John in the 5th got John a point back as Linares visited the canvas. Linares was down a second time right at the end of the round. Linares had a huge bounceback round in the 6th. Eventually, Linares would hit the canvas again in the 9th, on two occasions. Despite Linares being down four times, the scores were extremely tight. 93-92 and 93-91 twice in favor of John.

Kendall Holt (0-1) vs. Miguel Cotto (0-1), 10 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. With the first punch he landed, a brutal hook upstairs, Cotto took a tumble to the canvas and narrowly beat the count. Holt went for broke, unleashing everything he had, but Cotto's unreal survival skills aided him in making it to the bell. Not finishing Cotto would prove devastating, as Cotto recovered and put Holt down in the 4th. Cotto found a groove and in the 6th hit Holt with everything yet somehow couldn't put him down. Cotto had punched himself out for a moment and Holt took advantage, dominating the 7th. A short combination to begin the 8th put Cotto down a second time in the opening moments of the 8th. Cotto employed some well-timed holding to survive. Cotto narrowly edged the 10th and the fight went to the cards. The scorecards read as follows: 95-91, 95-92, and 94-93...all in favor of...Miguel Cotto. The decision seemed a bit off. All three judges scored rounds 2-6 for Cotto.

Rafael Marquez (0-1) vs. Abner Mares (0-1), 10 rounds, 118 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Both fighters landed their fair share of devastating shots, both fighters were rather dirty at times and the fight was a hard one to judge. Mares had activity in his favor but Marquez was doing the consistently more efficient work. Mares suffered a terrible cut over his right eye in the middle rounds that was cause for concern. An 8th round body shot dropped Mares for an eight count. In the 9th, the cut got much worse and referee Jose Cobian stopped it, giving Marquez a TKO win. Marquez was ahead 76-74 twice and even 75-75 at the time of stoppage.

James Kirkland (0-1) vs. Winky Wright (0-1), 12 rounds, 154 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Kirkland swarmed Winky, cutting him on the bridge of the nose in the 1st. It didn't keep Winky from controlling the early action, though the cut seemed concerning to referee Telis Assimenios. Kirkland had moments where he trapped Winky on the ropes and did good work but Winky was able to use the ring to his advantage for the most part. The cut got worse in the 6th, seemingly from an intentional headbutt, but the referee missed it. The cut got so bad that the doctor called the fight off, and Kirkland got an undeserving TKO win.

Guillermo Rigondeaux (1-0) vs. Junior Jones (0-1), 12 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Historically a slow starter, Rigondeaux went to work in the 1st and established ring dominance. Jones wouldn't have it and the fight became ugly to watch, with Jones finding success jabbing from the outside and moving before Rigondeaux could counter. Rigondeaux suffered a cut over his right eye from a headbutt in the 6th. The cut made Rigondeaux less hesitant to mix it up, and he had some of his best rounds. Jones suffered a cut in the 9th and Rigondeaux dropped him in the 10th with a brutal hook upstairs. Just as Rigondeaux looked like he might have Jones on the way out, the cut got worse for him and the fight was sent to the scorecards prematurely in the 11th. Rigondeaux still prevailed, winning via scores of 98-91, 97-92, and 96-93.

Chris Eubank (1-0) vs. Joe Calzaghe (1-0, KO), 12 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Calzaghe's volume punching proved a problem early for Eubank, but that success was broken up occasionally by Eubank combinations that had Calzaghe playing defense. Calzaghe suffered a cut on the right brow in the 3rd. Eubank got a foothold in the fight in the 5th and the cut for Joe again became a problem. Calzaghe was having his best round in the 7th when referee Ian John-Lewis stopped it 18 seconds early, thinking he heard the bell. Just as Calzaghe was putting together rounds, John-Lewis had a look at the cut again and ruled it too dangerous to continue. Eubank wins via TKO9, securing at least a draw for Team Tim. Scores all had Calzaghe ahead, 78-75 twice and 78-74.

Vitali Klitschko (1-0, KO) vs. Lennox Lewis (1-0), 12 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Both in top shape. Vitali got off to a great start that was aided by a point deduction from Lewis in the 3rd by Mickey Vann for continually leaning on Vitali's neck. Bringing back bad memories from their real life encounter was a bad cut suffered by Vitali in the 4th on the right brow. Vitali dominated in the 6th with an absolutely devastating display of right hands. Lewis felt the fight slipping and responded with a big round 7. With both guys tiring, Klitschko hurt Lennox early in the 8th and never let up, ultimately earning a stoppage with Lewis out on his feet.

Dariusz Michalczewski (1-0) vs. Dwight Muhammad Qawi (1-0), 15 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. It was an interesting boxer versus brawler matchup. A hard cross from Michalczewski broke up the parity in the bout in the 5th, scoring a knockdown. The knockdown seemed to wake up the monster in Qawi, whose determination only grew. Dariusz shook things up with a huge 11th round. He followed it up by dropping Qawi in the 12th. Round 13 was dazzling with both guys landing hurtful bombs at a high clip. It was Michalczewski who closed more impressively. The scores read 142-142, overruled by 145-140 and 143-141 cards in favor of Michalczewski.

Summary: Both in top shape. Rubillar jumped out to an early lead, using the ring to his advantage in order to box Cob Castro. Cob Castro worked himself into a fight in rounds three and four before Rubillar took back over midway through. Rubillar finished the fresher of the two as Cob Castro's activity dropped late in the fight. Still, Rubillar only barely emerged victorious, winning 97-93, 96-94 on two cards while Cob Castro won 96-95 on a third card for a split decision.

Vito Antuofermo (1-0) vs. Bernard Hopkins (0-1), 10 rounds, 160 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Antuofermo surprisingly got Hopkins to fight his fight in the 1st, but the Executioner snapped out of it and made it the ugly kind of fight he's known to dominate. Hopkins used all his veteran tricks and opened up a bad cut under Antuofermo's right eye. Vito used his own bag of tricks in the 4th and applied some dirty tactics alongside some clean ones to win the round. Vito dominated Hopkins in the 5th, causing some bad swelling under B-Hop's right eye. Hopkins dropped Vito in the opening seconds of the 6th to stall his momentum. Hopkins more or less dominated down the stretch, closing the night with another big knockdown in the 10th to leave no doubt as to the result. Hopkins prevailed unanimously on scores of 98-90, 97-91, and 96-92.

Tavoris Cloud (0-1) vs. Prince Badi Ajamu (0-1), 10 rounds, 175 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Ajamu did his best to make it an ugly fight, looking to counter Cloud whenever he could but mostly move around the ring and make him miss. Ajamu was putting together a nice run of good rounds before getting dropped late in the 7th, a round he was controlling up until that point. Cloud kept it going as he tried to grind down his tired opponent. Cloud would eventually win on the cards by scores of 99-90 twice and 98-91.

Alfredo Escalera (1-0) vs. Alex Arthur (0-1), 10 rounds, 130 pounds
Summary: Arthur overtrained, Escalera in top shape. Escalera was not surprisingly dominating the action until Arthur caught him with a massive combination that put him down. Escalera barely made it up at the count of eight and survived the round. Escalera responded with his most dominant round of the fight, though Arthur didn't go away. The more experienced Escalera paced himself better down the stretch in order to pick up enough late rounds to walk away with the decision. Scores were 97-94, 97-93, 96-93 in his favor.

Jorge Solis (0-1) vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa (1-0, KO), 10 rounds, 126 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Gamboa was just much too fast for Solis, beating him to the punch and getting tagged with little in return. Gamboa put Solis down in the 3rd and pummeled him otherwise. Gamboa smothered Solis with pressure in the 5th, adding another knockdown. An uppercut in the 7th produced a third knockdown and though Solis got up, he would visit the canvas again soon after, this time for the full ten count.

Summary: Broner had weight issues, De La Hoya in top shape. Oscar proved problematic for The Problem early on, but as De La Hoya slowed down, Broner began landing almost at will due to his blistering speed. Broner caught De La Hoya early in round five with a ridiculous combination, putting the Golden Boy on the canvas. Oscar had to play catchup in the last few rounds and stole a few of them before getting to the scorecards. One judge had it 95-94 for Broner, another had it 96-94 for De La Hoya and a third had it 96-93...for Adrien Broner in an upset.

Vic Darchinyan (1-0) vs. Fernando Montiel (0-1), 10 rounds, 115 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Darchinyan literally dropped Montiel with the first meaningful shot he landed in the opening 20 seconds. Montiel got up and made it through the round as Vic tried dusting him. Montiel bounced back with a good 2nd round and Darchinyan lost a point in the 3rd for an intentional headbutt. Montiel landed a short hook in the 5th that put Darchinyan down, making this an even sicker fight. Darchinyan responded with his most dominant round since the 1st, battering Montiel around the ring but was unable to drop him. In the 7th, it looked as though Montiel had Darchinyan in dire straits, but Darchinyan managed to land a sick combination that Montiel had a delayed reaction to before going down a second time. Somehow, Montiel managed to recover and put Darchinyan down AGAIN in the 8th round. This time, Vic was really badly hurt but got to his feet. Montiel knew he was running out of time and went for it, eventually dropping Darchinyan a second time in the round. This time, Vic stayed down and Montiel had a ridiculous victory with 15 seconds left in the 8th. Scorecards had Darchinyan ahead 66-64, 65-64 twice heading into the 8th.

Mike Tyson (0-1) vs. Buster Douglas (0-1), 10 rounds, heavyweights
Summary: Both fighters in top shape, contrary to when the two met in the biggest heavyweight championship upset back in 1990. Douglas got off to a good start, trying to prove he might just have Iron Mike's number. Round three was close and could've gone either way. Tyson exploded in the 4th with a big round, staggering Douglas. Douglas responded with a monstrous 5th round, rocking Tyson against the ropes with an uppercut. Tyson hurt his hand in a slowed 6th round but won it. Douglas had solid 7th and 8th rounds and the fight was hanging in the balance. Tyson did just enough to edge the 9th. Knowing the fight could go either way, both guys went for it with Tyson landing the heavier bombs. Scores were 96-94 twice and 96-95, all for the winner by unanimous decision, Mike Tyson.

Ike Quartey (1-0, KO) vs. Paul Williams (1-0, KO), 10 rounds, 147 pounds
Summary: Both fighters in top shape. Williams got off to a quick start. Both guys landed heavy hooks almost simultaneously with Williams doing more damage. Williams was more active, but got warned for blasting Bazooka Ike in the balls. Quartey got the jab working in the 2nd to great success. Williams turned it back in his favor with superior power punching in the 3rd. Rounds four and five were close but Quartey suffered a cut on the bridge of his nose. A close 5th became a landslide in favor of Williams. Quartey had a lot of trouble getting in range for his punches, particularly the jab. A powerful hook in the 9th put Quartey down and widened the gap on the cards. Quartey had his best round since the early going in the 10th but it was far from enough, with Williams winning unanimously 98-93 and 97-93 twice.

Mike McCallum (1-0) vs. Sugar Ray Leonard (1-0), 10 rounds, 154 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Close 1st round but McCallum opened up a cut under Ray's right eye. Through the first half of the fight, McCallum was in control, boxing a smart fight at a good pace to build an early lead. Ray started coming on in the 6th but an argument could be made the round was McCallum's. The 7th was undoubtedly Leonard's as he stopped McCallum in his tracks with some great body work. Round eight was even more one-sided in favor of Leonard, who had all the momentum all of a sudden. Neither fighter did much of anything in the 9th. In the 10th, it was McCallum who closed strongest, though not clearly. One judge found it 96-94 for each fighter, with a 97-93 score being the difference in favor of McCallum.

Koki Kameda (1-0, KO) vs. Eric Morel (0-1), 12 rounds, 112 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Kameda forced Morel to fight his fight from the outset, keeping it on the inside where Koki could grind Morel down and take away his legs with body shots. Morel was winded by the halfway mark and looked as though he wasn't ever getting untracked, until Morel scored a knockdown out of nowhere early in the 5th. A hurt Kameda barely survived. Kameda proved he wasn't yet recovered as he visited the canvas again in the 6th. A vicious cross in round 8 produced a third knockdown. Kameda got up but was soon stopped on his feet.

Lehlo Ledwaba (0-1) vs. Jeff Fenech (0-1), 12 rounds, 122 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Fenech got off to a great start and built an early lead before Ledwaba began finding the right distance to box from the outside. Fenech's power kept Ledwaba on the defense. Ledwaba blasted Fenech in the balls intentionally in the 7th, and referee Stanley Christodolou ruled it intentional, disqualifying Ledwaba,

Marcos Maidana (0-1) vs. Kostya Tszyu (1-0), 12 rounds, 140 pounds
Summary: Both in top shape. Maidana jumped right on Tszyu, blasting him with wide power shots in the opening round. Tszyu countered well in the 2nd, but still got tagged by a good amount of bombs. Tszyu just did not seem prepared for Maidana to march ahead, and ate a lethal combination in the 3rd, visiting the canvas in bad trouble.  The knockdown apparently woke Tszyu up, as it made round four a Round of the Century candidate with both guys trading heavy leather at center ring. Maidana walked into a cross and went down at the end of the round, getting up stunned. Tszyu kept momentum rolling as he cut Maidana in the middle of the left brow in another dominant round. The pace finally took a dip in the 6th, which could've been anyone's round. Early in the 7th, a powerful hook caught Tszyu, dropping him a second time. Tszyu could do nothing but hold on and survive. Tszyu was still hurt in the 8th and spent the round getting his legs back. He would lose those legs in round nine after a cross to the jaw sent him down again. Maidana was able to get away with some dirty tactics throughout, but finally caught a warning in the 9th. Knowing he was likely badly trailing on the scorecards in the 12th after both guys struggled to do much of anything in the 10th and 11th, Tszyu went bombs away, producing another knockdown with a minute and a half left. Maidana made it up at the count of eight, and spent the remainder of the round holding on for dear life as Tszyu went for the finish. Tszyu was unable to produce a magical TKO and the fight went to the scorecards.  The scorecards read 114-111, 113-112, and 113-112 for the winner by unanimous decision, Marcos Maidana!

Carlos Zarate (0-1) vs. Paulie Ayala (1-0, KO), 12 rounds, 118 pounds
Summary: Zarate in top shape, Ayala a bit soft. Zarate intent to dust off his KO loss last week, took the fight to Ayala at the opening bell. Zarate's power was just something Ayala had trouble adjusting too as he tried his best to jab his way inside. Ayala started finding some success in the middle rounds, but a Zarate uppercut devastated Ayala, sending him spiraling to the mat in the 8th. Ayala just barely beat the count, but ate heaps more punishment before referee Wayne Kelly called it off at 2:45.

Sakio Bika (0-1) vs. Anthony Dirrell (0-1), 15 rounds, 168 pounds
Summary: Bika overtrained, Dirrell top shape. Anthony Dirrell surprised the crowd by dropping Bika in the opening minute, catching him off guard with a hard jab followed by a perfect uppercut. Bika didn't panic, knowing he had 14 more rounds to make up the ground or catch Dirrell. Instead, he visited the canvas again in the 4th. Dirrell's speed was just too much and another knockdown in round five put him way behind. Bika got up again and wouldn't go down again until the 9th. Bika would dominate the 13th, lose a point in the 14th, and get dropped again in the 15th en route to a lopsided points loss by scores of 146-133 twice and 144-135.
